The Schedules are complete for all age groups. Please print a copy of your schedule and send me a note with either:

All contact information I've been given has now been entered and posted. Please provide me with any updates and/or corrections. Note that someone swiped my copies of the Squirt, Bantam and Midget printouts I was circulating at the Scheduling Meeting. If you somehow mistakenly ended up with it, please mail it back to me so I can update our web page and give everyone the benefit of the data. No questions asked!

Scheduling Meeting

Posted: August 28, 1997

The Scheduling Meeting is SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13. It begins at 10am Ohio/Kentucky time (9am Indiana) and will be at the Dayton Airport Inn off of US 40 near I-75 (west of exit 63) & I-70 (exit 32 north).

Each TEAM must have an individual Scheduler present (please do not have one person schedule for multiple teams!). At 8am (Ohio time) a League Board meeting will be held.

Note: In an effort to help those teams not yet finished with tryouts, the BTHL Board has granted a deadline extension for the "on time" team fee if the following conditions are met:

  1. A phone call is made on or before September 1 to our Scheduler, Len Holtgreven (419/422-4779-Work, 419/422-3433-Home), to express your team's intentions for the upcoming season.
  2. Your team application form is completed and faxed directly to Len Holtgreven @ 419/422-9036 on or before September 8.
  3. Your completed application and check is mailed with a postmark no later than September 8.
Please note that:
  1. We have not in any way extended the final deadline, no applications will be accepted if postmarked after September 8.
  2. If all the above conditions are not met, we will charge a late fee.
  3. No teams will be accepted at the scheduling meeting without payment in full.
  4. We will turn teams away at the scheduling meeting if all our terms are not met.

Our intentions are to make the scheduling meeting as smooth and painless as possible, for all participants.

1997/98 BTHL Officers

The following individuals have volunteered and were promptly elected to serve for the 1997/98 season:

Thank you!

Year-end tournament set

Our board has accepted the bid from Icelands in Cincinnati. Dates had previously been set for the weekend of February 21 & 22. All age groups will play in the Cincinnati area with priority given to scheduling games at Icelands. Format has been tentatively set as a double elimination, seeded tournament. Participation will be mandatory. All efforts will be made to make the cost very reasonable:
  1. The tournament will be budgeted to break even.
  2. Sponsors are being solicited to subsidize the cost.
  3. Any BTHL budget surplus will be used of offset tournament costs.

Tentative calendar for upcoming season:

Notes:
  1. Teams listed in italics are possible participants. These teams have simply expressed an interest.
  2. Our "AA" division is comprised of teams which voluntarily choose to participate at that level. Generally these teams will be from larger associations which can field both "Major" and "Minor" teams within a given age group.
  3. Any divisions consisting of 10 or more teams will be sub-divided geographically into brackets. Divisions with 8 or 9 teams could potentially be sub-divided if participating teams decide that's what they want. The brackets shown are for illustration purposes, actual composition of these brackets may vary depending upon the final list of teams.
  4. The number of league games is limited to a quantity of 24. Refer to Code of Regulations: Games. Please note that there is no limit to the number of non-league games which can be scheduled. ie: Teams are free to schedule as many (or few) "cross-division/bracket" games as desired.
  5. Not sure whether their team will be "A" or "AA". There will be one or the other, not both.
  6. There must be a minimum of 4 teams to form a division. Refer to Code of Regulations: structure.
  7. A request was made to the league to form a "AA" team consisting of select players from 2 seperate associations. The issue at hand was that these players would also be rostered on BTHL "A" teams. The board has ruled that since "A" and "AA" teams compete in seperate divisions there is no conflict with BTHL rules & regulations. Our Code of Regulations only refers to situations involving teams within the same division. (As of 8/22 they've decided NOT to do this team). Refer to: Movement of players.
  8. These teams intend to participate in the Little Caesar's League. Their intentions are to also participate in the BTHL only if the number of teams does not exceed 4 or 5. (As the number of teams increase so do the potential scheduling conflicts.)
  9. Bold print indicates APPLICATION RECEIVED.
