BTHL Minutes "Rules Meeting" 5/4/02
Attendance: Tracy Merritt, Susan Burghes, Ken Nagel, Bob Kowalski, Len Holtgreven, Hugh Miller, Carolyn Vogel, Paul Carey
Discussion:
- Birth Year. Discussion of A vs. AA and major vs. minor. Agreed with 6 max second year players unless petition to play down.
- Petition to play down must be sent in at the same time as the application. Request sending roster and justification for petition.
- End of year tournament, 2002-2003. Colunbus, Indy and Cincinnati have placed/voiced interest.
- Dayton Marriott has offered location to host schedule meetings. Mary Ciesa is the sales manager.
- Stats. Concern about stats not being turned in. Mandatory that 1 person be in charge of roster compliance and score sheets. Will consider position of Division Director for this task. Request stats 3 days post game or no later than Tuesday night. Maintain the actual scoresheet for any discrepancies. Both teams to submit scores. Include all game misconducts and penalties.
- Rosters. Must be turned in to Len be deadline, with signatures. If roster not accurate and signed, 3 options: player doesn't play, forfeit the game or reschedule.
- Slaughter or mercy rules. No set rules for individual games. This has never been brought up. Suggestions: 10 goal differential, game is over. Concern about traveling distance and early game called due to goal differential. Will poll member.
- Mouth guards and neck guards. Consistent with USA guidelines, all players must wear mouth guards.
- September Schedule Meeting, late August or early September. Will continue at the Dayton Airport. Will request more rooms for each division.
Meeting adjourned.
