Hi all:
I just returned today from the USA Hockey Annual Congress in Colorado Springs. We had several good meetings. Of action taken that directly effects this issue, USAH Board of Directors added a new age category for Midgets. Midget teams will now be registered as either Midget 16 & Under or Midget 17 (17 1/2) and Under. Those will be the official designations. USA Hockey would like everyone to avoid using the terms Midget Major and Midget Minor and refer to Midgets by the age. Also for the purposes of Tier I and Tier II teams. All games between Midget (16 & Under and 17 & Under) will count toward the 10/20 rule when it comes to game counts. Hope that helps. I would really like us to drop the Minor / Major language and refer to the teams as listed previously.
