George was “original equipment” when the Arena opened in 1976.  Until

he passed away in the fall of 2001, George remained active in Arena

hockey programs as a player, minor official, fan and grandfather!

 

 

DETAILS

Dates:

Thanksgiving Weekend… Fri.-Sun., Nov. 28-30, 2003

Format:

Four PeeWee teams, will be accepted, first come first served.  There is a 3 game guarantee (played on Friday and Saturday) with a championship game (1st vs. 2nd place) played on Sunday.

Level:

Single “A” teams or equivalent will be accepted

Awards:

Championship teams will receive a memento of their success sponsored by DiPaolo’s Restaurant.

Trainer:

A Miami University trainer will be present throughout the tournament for emergency first aid for the players or over zealous parents.

Fees:

A non-refundable deposit of $100, sent along with the application, is required.  Teams are chosen on a first come, first served basis… so don’t delay.  The balance of fees ($290) is due by November 1, 2003.  Yes, at $390… it’s a real bargain!

Rosters:

Rosters will need to be faxed or e-mailed to Chris Brittain by November 1, 2003 for the tournament program.

Game Format:

-3 minute warm-up
-15 minute running time periods
-last 3 minutes of each game is stop time if the score is within 3 goals or less
-clock is stopped on goals and penalties only
-all minors are 1:30 in duration… majors are 4 minutes
-all ties remain ties… no overtime is played except in the championship games
-tie breakers in the “round robin” will be:
   
a)     head to head                                                                         d)    least goals against
     b)     least penalty minutes                                                          e)     most goals for

c)        largest positive difference between GF & GA                f)     flip of a coin (it never gets this far)
