Buckeye Travel Hockey League Conference Call
September 14, 2004 Minutes

PRESENT: Carolyn Vogel, Steve Moody, Deb Eaton, Hugh Miller, Tom Chambers, Rob Hoover, Len Holtgreven, Jim Geyer

1. Approval of new organizations: Ft. Wayne Komets, Central Indianapolis Youth Hockey Association, Central Ky. High School Hockey Association and Newark .
2. Divisions. Discussion of possible split of temas into 2 divisions at the bantam level but not at the peewee level. Final decision was to keep all teams in 1 division. The discussion was the distance and travel time between some teams.
3. Artic Blast Squirt A accepted in the Buckeye League and placed in the Bluegrass division.
4. No. Ky. Bantam A refund. Will give full refund since the team gave advance notice to Len ( prior to the schedule meeting).
5. Tournament. Suggestion for the next year, with more than 16 teams, split the tournament into 2 weekends, this would reduce the # of games each weekend and allow for final competition during the 2nd weekend.
   1. 2004-2005 end of year tournament will be 2/18 with games beginning Friday afternoon thru Sunday.
   2. The tournament will be over 2 weekends, 2/18-20/2005 and 2/25-27/2005.
   3. Full consolation bracket was accepted.
   4. All participants will receive a pin. Also, a finalist pin for 2nd place in each division and championship pin. Team trophy for the champion and finalist. No other trophies will be given.
   5. Tournament to be held in Cincinnati.
   6. A forum will be set up at the Gardens during the tournament weekend to provide feedback or discussion re: rules changes and other topics. These will be posted on the website with location and times.
6. Huntington Parents Email. Buckeye role is to be aware of coach certification and to follow USA Hockey rules. Len to provide respond to the letter. Will ask other teams to check coach certification.
7. Review of Saturday Board meeting agenda 9/18/04. Stu to present game misconduct sheet for the season.
