* * 2005 State Tournaments * *

Please forward information you may have regarding the State Tournaments for Ohio and Indiana. (My understanding is that Kentucky will have a team represent them at the PeeWee and Midget16 level but there is no Kentucky State Tournament. West Virginia will not have any representation at all). I'd like to know the teams, format and the results. I'm particularly interested in the BTHL teams but I want to post the winners regardless of what league they may participate in. Thanks for your help!

Email the information to me at:

Year-end Tournament

February 18 - 20 February 25 - 27

CONGRATULATIONS to the tournament winners and GOOD LUCK to those teams participating in the upcoming STATE TOURNAMENTS! For those of you with information on the tournaments; please pass it on so I can post it to this website and keep our membership informed.

I still need scores from the PeeWee B and Midget18 divisions before I can complete the Brackets for the 2nd weekend! Managers, please get the scores in so this process can be completed. Also, please take the time to verify the accuracy of the posted results, NOW is the time to get any errors corrected. In addition, if you notice your team is tied in points with another team in your division please verify that I've applied the tie breaker properly. Again, as far as I know everything is accurate but I'm very capable of making mistakes; if you want them corrected NOW is the time to let me know. Thanks for your cooperation and GOOD LUCK IN THE TOURNAMENT!

NOTICE!! I'm aware of at least one instance of a player not showing up on the online roster prior to the 1st tournament weekend. Managers, please be aware that tournament officials have been instructed that players not on the online rosters will NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENT. Rosters should have been verified long ago but it would be a good idea to double check your rosters NOW. If you discover a problem, contact the appropriate division director immediately so the situation can be corrected. Don't contact me, the division directors have the official rosters and they will pass on the corrected information AFTER VERIFICATION.

Team Seeding: If you have questions regarding the team seeding please reference this document. Keep in mind that the seeding is designed to match up the top teams from one bracket against the bottom teams of the other. And, as with any seeding process, the top teams are seeded to favor their advance to the championship game. Click here for our tie breaking rules.

There are open meetings scheduled for 2:00pm at Northlands on each Saturday during the tournament. This is the time of year we consider rule changes and the goal of these meetings is to solicit feedback for the upcoming season. Any changes will be discussed and developed via committee following the end of the season and then officially adopted by the membership at our Annual Meeting in May. If you have complaints or suggestions this is the place to express those views. This is your league and this is your chance to get involved and make it better. Please make an effort to attend.

Double Rostered Players must now declare their tournament team. Managers, if you have players rostered on other teams then you must notify your Division Director as to which team the players will participate in the tournament with. This is your responsibility, please follow through.

Password Request

It's come to my attention that the "Password Request" link is not appearing on the Password Entry screen for some of you. If you need a password for posting stats and the link is not showing up as described, click here. Please let me know if you continue to have problems.

Game Stats

Most of you have probably noticed that the team rosters on this website have columns for summarized game stats. A few notes regarding those stats:

  1. The stats are entered game by game by the team managers. Some of our division directors will enter them if a team fails to do so, but the primary responsibility falls on the individual teams. If your team does not have stats and you would like to see them please contact your coach and volunteer to enter them for your team. The time involved in entering stats for a single team each week is trivial, entering them for an entire division is overwhelming.
  2. When entering stats; you can optionally enter them for either a single team or both (home and away) teams. If you leave ALL the stats blank for a given team, the system will not update or change the previously reported stats in any way.
  3. In the case of newly reported game results; if you're reporting stats for just your team and not the opposing team, PLEASE fill in the game score at the top of the form. If the overall score is not entered the system will look at individual stats to calculate a game score, but the score for your opponent will be ZERO if you don't report something.
  4. Stats can be updated and corrected any number of times during the season. It's important to understand that if you want to add or update a single stat (such as goalie saves), the system will erase all previously reported stats. All that will remain is the stat you reported. If that was not your intention then you need to click on the button labeled "Click here to read previously reported stats" located at the top of the form BEFORE entering anything new. Then add/correct the stat and click "Post Results".
  5. When MULTIPLE goalies are used in a given game; use the "Goals" column as a "Goals Against" column for each of the goalies when entering "Saves". Otherwise there's no way to determine a "Save Percentage". If by chance your goalie actually scores a goal (WOW!) please send me an email and I'll manually enter the stat. (This is our 10th year and I'm still waiting for that one to happen!)
  6. In the case of "Open Net Goals". Use the "Bench" player found on your roster as an additional "Goalie". The "Bench" will never score a goal so the program "knows" to treat anything in the "Goals" column as an open net goal. This will allow for accurate Goalie Save Percentages.
  7. When entering penalties please note that a game misconduct is scored as 10 minutes for statistics purposes. Also keep in mind that a "2-and-10" is actually 2 penalties for a total of 12 minutes. The same thing applies for a 5-and-game, that's 2 seperate penalties for a total of 15 minutes.
  8. A helpful tip; when entering stats I think you'll find it easier to use the [Tab] key to move from field to field in the form. For some reason you can not key over existing data, it must be deleted first. This includes the spaces that are "pre-entered" on a blank form and it can be very confusing if you don't know what's going on. By "Tabbing" through the fields you'll notice that the entire field is highlighted when you move into it and the existing "data" (or spaces) is deleted just as soon as you key any new data.
