We know you have all been waiting for Final division assignments so you can start scheduling. Thanks for your patience. Please read this entire message and if you have questions please email email@example.com
We have considered the petitions and some changes were granted and some were not. The final divisions after all changes are in this spreadsheet
. See the tab for your age division and the column heading Final Assignment
(column K) for your team. This is a new copy, do not refer to the preliminary announcement as it does not contain the final changes.
As mentioned earlier, this year we are trying an experiment with all teams to play 16 league games regardless of division size. This means in some divisions you will schedule an extra "crossover" opponent in another division, or you will not schedule one or two teams in your division. We've tried to indicate this as clearly as possible but if you are unsure who you should schedule for league games please ask. We'll evaluate this after the season and may continue this in the future to make the number of league games more predictable for all teams.
Teams should schedule 4 games per opponent for their league games (2x home and 2x away). The two games are normally played on the same date, so each team should have 4 home dates and 4 away dates for their 16 league games. Teams should give scheduling priority to these league games. You can also schedule other teams within the league or elsewhere as non-league games.
Some scheduling contact information has been updated. Links have been sent to teams on our master email list.
About entering your team games on the website (please read this to avoid questions). Setting up the teams and divisions on the website is a very manual process. We are working with SportsEngine to try to automate parts of this. If that doesn't work out we will set up the teams manually and send instructions on how to enter your league game schedules. We hope to tell you more in the next few days.
About division standings. Division standings for the regular season will be by Points (2x wins + ties) with tiebreakers in this order: Head to Head, Wins, and Scoring Quotient. Scoring Quotient is computed as Goals For / (Goals For + Goals Against) and is a measure of how a team scores compared to giving up goals. Non-league games will not be included in the regular season standings, but when seeding teams for the End of Season Tournament, we may also consider non-league games and MyHockey rankings. We suggest that each team designate a person to update their team game results in the MyHockey Rankings website.
Welcome back, best wishes and good luck to all teams!
